Given the very sporadic feedback lately I think that most bugs are found and the features asked for are implemented in a way that most people are satisfied. So I will make the release soon. Thank you very much for your patience, time and participation.

Just a quick word to say thank you very much for this excellent program. Just recently I manually edited my aircraft config files for better optimization. I have used your program since doing this and it makes this tedious job a breeze. The ability to remove unwanted keys and re-order the entries isjust what I needed!! Thanks again!!

I swear, Martin is the greatest. He is certainly the most dedicated programmer I have known. I go to work and eight hours later there is another iteration of his work.
I appreciate your wanting to perfect this version of AIAE, but remember the old saying, " All work and no play makes John a dull boy."
Martin. Publish the latest version and take a break and enjoy "flying FS" for a while !

Please check version 1.6.28
here.
Changes:
added: analysis of missing effect files. Like with ATC: if only FS9 or FSX is installed comparision goes against that sim, if both exist you are asked
Soon, Joe
If you get a lot of effects name 'False' missing - I am already aware of it and about to fix it

Please check version 1.6.29
here.
Changes:
fixed: effect files analysis now is able to work with default+Single Iteration entries like 'wake=false' and with the disabled parameter 'fx_dummy'
changed: now distinguishes between [fltsim.x] mis-numbering (when a number is missing) and number mis-ordering (when the sequence is not in order). The first generates an error, the second one a warning remark behind the number of sections found.

Changes:
fixed: effects files analysis now is able to work with the parameter false, true, 0, 1 and -1 (only the first two are documented in the SDK, but at least the third seems to be used as well)

It is an editor for fs9/fsx aircraft.cfg files, Johnny. The new version also help you find errors in aircraft configuration files.

Important
Better than a poll... Download this version to check how the reworked interface of AIAE would look. I need you to tell me if you prefer the old style or this variant. The changes are
--> larger main window
--> larger text boxes
--> larger font size
--> elements structured differently
Please be so kind to tell me what you prefer. I have to decide with which version I will continue.
Edited: Linked removed, it has been decided

Please check version 2.0.3
here.
Changes:
changed: main window size increased, as well as the size of texture boxes and the font size. the layout has been restructured. thanks for the positive feedback.
changed: owlcheck.log will no longer be written into your FS structure but in your %temp% folder. I have received negative feedback about doing this. I see the point of owners of SD drives and people doing special sorting. From a programmers perspective the %temp% folder is all mine and I can leave files there.
fixed: logical error that could cause false ATC error findings in reporting (awaiting final confirmation)
added: the fltsim description field can now be edited on the 2nd tab

Please check version 2.0.4

Changes:
changed: replaced a rich text box with a text box
added: 'validate all' report says with what option it is running 'all aircraft' or 'errors only'

Ok - couple of possible bugs to report. Or maybe my system!! Firstly - With the increased size - the program screen appears too big for my monitor, meaning maybe about 10-15% of the right hand side of the program screen is chopped off!(And possibly the bottom too - confirmed)
With a resizeable window, using the 'drag' handles seems to do nothing except stretch the main window, and the maximized screen results in this chopped off look! (My desktop res is 1024x768 on XP SP3) - I tried a higher resolution with the same result.
Secondly, when the program is launched the ATC parking types appears corrupted until you actually drop the menu down or resize the window, then populates normally. Is this a font issue?
As you know, i think this program is excellent and hope the above findings help you make it better!

Dinga,
Uhh, that was what I was afraid of
The feedback I have received for the larger interface was so positive that I made the change. Can you please try it like this:
Start AIAE
Make it resizable
Then click the maximize rectangle beside the X in the upper right
How does it look now? There might still some distortions with check boxes and option buttons, but from my tests the rest should be okay.
