Good evening all,

In an effort to teach myself all the ins and outs of military AI, I have decided to embark on a journey to put together a package for all of you.

Not being one to to start small, I chose to tackle the project on a grand scale, A full Expeditionary Air Wing (EAW) deployment from the US.

I chose to do such a project for the simple fact that I am not the type to just sit at an airport and spot planes, I like to follow one aircraft through its entire flight.

While there are no screenies yet, there will be some soon, I am currently working on putting the FPs together...(a bigger undertaking than I thought before I started planing out a 14 leg tanker route)

But here is the overview of what the finished product will consist of:

What the Package Will Be

A total of 14 aircraft types, 46 repaints in the aircraft.txt file. Of the 14 types, 9 are fully AI designed, the other 5 are modified to be much lighter than their flyable counterparts...

The aircraft involved will deploy from all over the US, as follows:

8 C-17s From Hickam
6 KC-135Rs from Eielson
4 C-5s From Wright-Patterson
6 C-130s From Hickam
3 E-3Cs From Tinker
3 E-8Cs From Tinker
12 A-10s from Eielson
12 F-15s from Portland, Ore.
12 F-16s from JRB Ft. Worth
12 F-16s from Shaw
12 F-18Es out of China Lake
4 F-117s from Holloman
6 B-1s From Dyess
3 B-52s from Barksdale
3 B-2s from Whiteman

For a total of 106 aircraft involved altogether.

Their routing will be as follows (Not for the politcally correct!)

From the stateside bases through to Hawai'i to Anderson AFB, Guam, from there the bombers will forward deploy to Diego Garcia, and the Tac Air will funnel through Diego Garcia on their way to Ahmed Al Jabar Air Base in Kuwait (OKAJ).

Once all the aircraft get to their destinations the combat aircraft will start doing touch 'n goes into Baghdad and the Support aircraft will make runs between the bases with 24 hour awacs and tanker sorties all the way back to Hawaii to support the trash haulers...

They return stateside at the end of the 7-day scheduling week where it will start all over again in a loop....

All Airbases have proper AFCADs with the exception being Andersen, but I am about 75% done so far with 96 Parking Spots currently there, and about 140 in total when all is said and done.

What the Package WON'T Be

It will not be 100 percent accurate

You will find aircraft with the same reg being used

You will probably find other errors as well, as this is my first shot at a package and is primarily for my own education.

I look forward to:

Sharing this project with you all when it is done to spice up your AI world.

Receiving Constructive criticism and tips on how to become a better AI designer.

Sorry for being so long winded, and look for some screenies soon!

So, the flightplans are finally taking shape, without the -15s or -16s done yet there are currently 105 FPs with 479 Legs between the aforementioned bases...

Here are some current screenies:

The first out of the gate would are the -135Rs out of Eielson...

With A-10s in tow...

Image

Getting closer to Andersen, I ran across a visitor from Barksdale...

Image

Arriving into Andersen, EVERYBODY was happy to see the navy lending a hand!

Image

So I chose to hitch a ride with them to Diego Garcia...

Image

Where everybody marveled at the beaches and B-2s...

Image

And finally ending up in Kuwait to see the progress of the deployment so far...

More to come later!

If you'd like a couple of extra F-117A paints, give me a PM.

Time for another couple of updates here...

AFCADs

Reworked the OKAJ AFCAD from the ground up...deleted everything but the Runways, since after error checking the one I got from flightsim in AFCAD it was quicker than fixing all the errors LOL.

Received commitments for a couple more units for their participation as follows:

12 Tornados from the Italian Air Force, operating out of Piacenza
4 EA-6Bs from the US Marines out of Cherry Point, NC

Changed Deployment Routing of some units

Namely:

157th FS out of Show, 457th FS from JRB Ft. Worth, E-8s from Robbins AFB, GA, as well as the EA-6Bs from Cherry Point all now deploy from their stateside bases through Rammstein AB on thier way to Kuwait.

Shedules

Aircraft ALL start their deployments from their home bases at 1200 GMT on Sunday, arriving at their final destinations anywhere from Sunday evening to Tuesday morning.

Conduct combat ops from arrival time until Thursday Evening/Friday Morning

Then head back to their home base in time to start the cycle over again.

Some More Pics

The F-16s finally decided to show up and join the party...now where are those F-15s...

Image

Who knows? but the Italians want in on the action...

Image

That means it is time to kick off the combat ops! Resulting in some unique lineups at the runway!

Image

As you can see things are just getting rolling...

Image

Force integration is a must...

Image

Proper operations means no let up on the enemy...as one wave rolls out, the next rolls in...

Looks great!. Just one comment. The 157th FS is out of McEntire ANGB, South Carolina. They are just down the road from Shaw.

Cheers
