I just flew this morning up to Erie and back, visibility is crap up to about 8000 ft. due to haze. I don't know how much flying they're going to be able to do today, or tomorrow for that matter.
@Victory, we fly the 550B, Citation Bravo. I think the UC-35 is the Encore model, 560 I think. Just an upgraded model of what we fly.
Thanks Mike. I firgured it was at Hopkins. The Air Force hasn't flown any fighters into Burke (except for A-10's if you want to call that a fighter) since that Thunderbird T-38 incident years ago. I might go to the show tomorrow depending on weather. I live about 10 minutes from the southwest side of Hopkins so maybe I can make it over to Aerospace Parkway and catch it.
Bless all the pilots today in their flight suites, it's currently 89*F with 65% humidity which makes it feel like it's really 99*F. In a word: uncomfortable! Especially in a flight suit.
Grape if you only live 10 minutes SW of KCLE, then you only live 5 minutes from me.
Grape if you are looking for a nice spot to watch them depart and recover for any of the next 4 days, there is this little hill that no one knows about just off of aerospace parkway. I've highlighted the approach end of 6R to orient you. That's the intersection of Aerospace Parkway and Grayton Rd. Take a right turn there on Grayton right where the flashing yellow light is at the firehouse, go down Grayton and take the first left, that will take you back there. I use that way to cut through to Aerospace Parkway when I'm riding my bike to the metroparks or work. I never see anyone back there and you can park your car back there without anyone even knowing you are there.
Thanks Mike, I didn't know about that hill. I haven't been back that way in a while. That's the general area where my Dad used to take us back in the 50's to watch the airplanes take off and land. I've been on the otherside next to 6L in the parking lot of some company. That's good in the late afternoon if they still let people go in there.
This is the boss' bird. Apparently it broke because they swapped in one of the other ones for this #1. Not sure why but they didn't fly their practice today. Might have been due to poor visibility due to haze.
