I'm pretty sure i know the answer already but here goes:
Is it possible to get ai to show up in multiplayer games and if so, how?

Not in FS9, but I believe that you can in FSX.

actually when i was part of usnva we were able to use a type of server that was a outside program called ibnet if im not mistaken thats what it was called, it still shows your ai but not anyone elses, it does allow you to fly multiplayer but only if everyone you fly with has the same program on their computer.

Both if possible. I'll only use it on a local network with a group of computers with cadets on them.

I fly online a lot with my VA. The only way for everyone to see the AI is for everyone to have them instailed on thier systems. The you have to make sure everyone is sinc to the same time or what you see will be different than what they see. I also beleve there is a setting in FSX to turn on and off AI Aircraft in multiplayer mode.
One last thing. When in multiplayer mode AI aircraft don't obey the rule and will land on top of you and fly right through.
Cheers
Scott

In both my military based VA's, we use a set of MP AI that everyone has to download for online play. This can include different tail #'s so everyone can see exactly what bird the other is in. Some developers (VRS) have MP models that cut down on FPS when flying online. Many times I use MAIW models unless they have the advanced xml animations (RBF flags, fire carts).
A funny thing about FSX and FSInn, you have to manually turn off the AI or you will have "ghost" aircraft, could be an issue at a busy KLAX while on VATSIM.

Thanks for the help chaps, it now works beautifully. Is there a program like traffic view board for fsx, the default program doesn't allow you to see all of the aircraft in the area.

I went with the payware Super Traffic Board, does everything the stock TVB does and way more advanced.
