Since no-ones mentioned this yet (i think) then i figured i better. Michael Pearson has released several re-worked versions of Nick's f4. Judging by the readme it will be done in several parts with part 1 & 2 already up. Haven't tried them yet but they look pretty good.

I have downloaded them. They are okay and with such a variety of weaponry to go with them he has done a smashing job. Now if he keeps going with further marques we are going to be spoilt for the weaponry choice for all of them.

Has anyone done a traffic.bgl file for them? I'm at a total lost at doing that. :(

I've started tinkering with the idea of making a 1980's project. It would probably be solely California bases and maybe spread to Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico. I would probably include Phantoms for the ANG in Fresno 144th FW with a detachment at March since we had them for a short time between F-106s and F-16s. I would also put in some RF-4Bs at MCAS El Toro retrospect for VMFP-3. And the F-4Gs at George AFB retrospect.
It would not be all inclusive and nowhere as complete as the MAIW packages. I would offer up any of the work for the world of MAIW enthusiasts to refine and build on. I think as a starting point I might build a small amount of limited traffic bgls to show retro traffic.
My fun factor would kick into overdrive with a bunch of Phantoms in the sky. You might want to put some smoke effects from a DC-8 or something because you used to be able to see F-4s for miles away. I think if I were to get started I would be far from retro everywhere such as F-111s at Cannon, C-141s at Norton and March, Green/Grey A-10s at Davis Monthan, A-4s at NAS Alameda, P-3s at Moffett Field, B-52s and KC-135s at Castle, T-37s and T-43s at Mather, SR-71s and a whole mess of other cool stuff. I'm sorry for dragging out the response.

Just in case anybody hasn't installed these yet there is a bug fix going up, missing air file and parking spot size issues.

That's good, I was wondering about those 20m parking radii.... :)

The program that Mike P. uses to develop his models factors in the drag chute when it assigns a radius to a model, so all the radii for the various models with drag chutes have to be adjusted to a more realistic value after the fact. He simply forgot to do that initially.

Another NMAI F-4C and D Update Soon

There should be another NMAI F-4C and D update tomorrow that includes my v1.6 FDE for all the F-4C and D models. Mike P. inadvertently included my v1.5 FDE in the original release, which has a couple of issues that were corrected in v1.6.

Mike P. has released his McDonnell Douglas F-4C/D Phantom II Expansion #1 - West Coast ANG. In this package he includes my updated v1.6 AI FDE that fixes a couple of minor issues in my v1.5 AI FDE. Below is a link to this package on avsim.com.

It is mind boggling to see all these Phantoms!

I am hoping to find F-4D repaints for the 144th FW which had Phantoms at KFAT Fresno from 1984-1989, between F-106s and now F-16s.

This is exciting.

Thanks! I am looking forward to the upcoming models. Goodness, has anyone calculated all the potential combinations of repaints-models-flightplans? There will be a Phantom under every kids Christmas tree!
