I think I know where it is...

.. but I'm not going to tell

Looking at Google Earth, is that really a farm located inside the northern taxiway loop?

That's nice! Shame on me that I did not recognize. I was on that base in Oct/Nov 1999. Maybe it's because I am getting older? Still have a T-shirt: Einsatzgeschwader 1 Piacenza.

Reminds me also about the Formula 1 racing in Japan we watched on the market place in Modena. Never saw so many people at 4 o'clock in the morning. After the race finished we HAD to go inside the nearby Ferrari museum

Unfortunately the Miss Italy contest took place some weeks earlier in Salsomaggiore Terme (spelled correctly?) a city close to the base... sorry, off-topic

mmm... if I remember right, in 1999 Eddie Irvine won the Japan GP but World Title went to Mika Hakkinen with last race in Malesya...
Salsomaggiore is perfect

EDIT:
1° Hakkinen
2° Schumacher
3° Irvine

Ferrari is a real FAITH in that area! There was a priest who used to ring the bells of the church when a Ferrari would win! No marvel people gather even in the early morning to see the GP in Australia or Japan! Luckily Bernie Eccelstion wanted the races to be held later so that we European can sleep.
But the best thing you can find in that region is food!!!
