MAIW AMC West C5 Question

Installed FSX and installed the file MAIW_PSAI_C5B_RCH_XX_22_86-0025. The airport is KGRK.
Question: When the AI starts speeding up for the take off, smoke start appearing, and the aircraft does not get stable. Fact is, it is bouncing while on the runway and never flies correctly. Is this a FSX problem?
Have I missed a possible update? Is there a suggestion to correct this issue?
Thank you...

No other KGRK files right? Did you install the 21st CAV AH-64 package and use the supplied AFCAD fix for GRK and HLR? If you did remove that file as you do not need the FS9 fix.
There is a FSX version of GRK on avsim with proper Mil_Cargo parking.

This C5 is the only AI at KGRK. Used AIFP for flightplan. Did you install the 21st CAV AH-64 package and use the supplied AFCAD fix for GRK and HLR? No Sir. I downloaded the file from MAIW. Then, I extracted to the MAIW AMC West folder created by rar. Then, I ran the MAIW AMC West C5.exe and had the download go to the same folder.
Reason is because I only wanted the C5 right now. And I keep reading about conflicts that MAY occur using FS9 flightplans in FSX using AIFP.
Hope this helps. Really want to use this C5!!
Thank you for the reply.

Hmm, ok I do have the whole C-5 package installed at Kelly AFB and all C-5's are flying fine. Although I have a mod'd GRK, all traffic going into both runways work fine. Sounds like an elevation issue at GRK. Have you watched this C-5 at other destinations?

No Sir, but I am going to try that right now. Thank you for the idea.
Well, I made new flightplans for KDFW - Same results. On liftoff, front lifts up - smoke everywhere, tail goes into runway. After liftoff, goes back to ground level. Just wiped out lot of people's homes!!

Ok that sounds like a "contacts" issue within the aircraft.cfg file. Make sure there was nothing mentioned in the MAIW Package support thread for both East/West AMC heavies. Can you post this section for review?

I forget where I saw it, but there was something on here about ensuring all C-5 flights are IFR. I think it had something to do with stability. I could be right or I'm just talking out of my

You are right but the only reason we mentioned that was because the PSAI C-5 doesn't land well out of a VFR circuit, so it has nothing to do with
flynby's problem I think.

Gentlemen, thanks for the response. Had a hard drive "malfunction" - Virus got me. Changed the flight from VFR to IFR. The C5 did finally take off. But the nose and tail started "bobbing" up and down in flight.
Then the nose went straight up!! Then came the crash.
Victory103, did you install directly from the MAIW folder into FSX? I was afraid to try this. Thought I might want to add different flightplans for this aircraft. I am new to AFIP and read about FS9 flightplan problems.
Thank you all for the help.

All my packages are installed into a temp folder, then I move them over manually. I did add the MAIW folder under the Simobjects folder and changed the fsx.cfg to read them (per the guide). So now all my MAIW reside in that one folder. In AIFP2, I read the MAIW traffic.bgl and convert from FS9 to FSX, I check the "Raw" box as I don't want my military AI speeds limited. After the AIFP converts the file, I direct it to install the new coverted file to the Scenery/World/scenery folder.
Have you checked your airfile (PSAI_C5A_AI_ONLY.air)within the PSAI C-5 aircraft folder, your issues seem to relate to that. Did you ever have the M. Stone freeware flyable model?

Victory103: You seem to do the same type installation I do; manually. My question is: If yours works properly in FSX and you got your download from MAIW, why would mine be having a problem??
They should all be the same. But, that is just my luck!! My other downloads from MAIW are error free.

No Sir, I never had Mike Stones flyable model. What program do you use to check the air file? In XP and FS9, I used a air editor. Is that what you use? Not aware of anything to use in Win 7 FSX? Thanks for trying to help out!! I need it.

Victory & flynby, youall should try to get together personally to fix the C-5. After all you are only a hop, skip and a jump from each other.

@Joecoastie,
I agree, although I am on a year long vacation in sunny Afghanistan.
@flynby, I couldn't get airedit to work in Win 7. I use Owl's AI editor if I need to check aircraft.cfg errors and change airfiles to the AI setting (2)only. I could send you my files, but I never touched them from the original install.

That's mighty strange, as AirEd works fine out of the box on my Win7 install. I don't even need to run it in compatibility mode or with admin rights
