I like most any kind of military simulation. I am a big Battlefield 2 player, and I found a new game thats a lot of fun. It is called Silent Hunter - Wolves of the Pacific. The graphics will blow you away and its very challenging. Here is some screeies of an air attack by a Japanese patrol plane and a Zero. I am using the ACK ACK gun trying to defend myself during a surface convoy attack. Too bad we can not use some of these effects in FS2004... Whats real cool is that they have multiple explosions and parts fly off the ships then a final big bang. Also has good sound effects to go along with them.

Using these effects it would be fun to have a range where fighters or a B-52 or B-1 could come it and light the place up.....

Here is a couple more. Game is by Ubisoft The aircraft and ships will blow up and burn, you will have smoke columns all over the place, wreckage in the water. There is even survivors in lifeboats and life jackets in the water. Very realistic military simulator. The AI escorts are deadly when they find you. so you have to be good at getting in close. There is also a lot of Mods for this game already. The bottom shot is a Zero blowing up and you can see parachutes coming down all around in a large scale aerial attack like Midway.

The simulation takes place in the Pacific Theater from 1942 to 1945. All the submarines, ships and aircraft are modeled correctly. It includes all aircraft, aircraft carriers, battleships, all type of warships, merchants, both Allied and Japanese plus Neutral countries. (You have to be careful what you attack and ID it correctly). You can participate in most of the Pacific major naval battles like Midway, Coral Seas etc....

Not sure about this one, but -

Hopefully this doesn't include the Starforce drivers as UBISoft have now dropped them.

You might want to check.
