KNTD AFCAD

There are 2 AFCADs for KNTD in the package (one labeled 'Default', the other 'Defualt' - note the difference in spelling). Presumably they're both the same but having 2 AFCADs installed for the same airport may cause problems (or am I wrong?).

use the one spelled incorrectly "DEFUALT" and delete the other one

Sorry, Des
I think that's my fault, it was one that I fixed at the last minute and seemed to have inadvertently spelt it correctly :oops: . It should be the one spelt correctly that should be used.

this questions was posted outside of this support topic..just moving it where it belongs:

Hi Team,
First thanks for the package.
I allways use manual install for my AI traffic and found the following entrys:

[fltsim.5]
title=WoA_HTAI_KC130_QD_160015
sim=AI Lockheed C-130H
model=wing_tanks
texture=USMC_QD_152_160015
atc_airline=SUMO
atc_parking_types=MIL_CARGO
atc_parking_codes=152,C130,M003
ui_manufacturer=Henry Tomkiewicz AI
ui_type=Lockheed KC-130R Hercules
ui_variation=USMC - VMGR-352, MAG-11, MCAS Miramar, CA. 160015
description=Repaint by Graham King

[fltsim.6]
title=WoA_HTAI_KC130_QD_160016
sim=AI Lockheed C-130H
model=wing_tanks
texture=USMC_QD_152_160016
atc_airline=SUMO
atc_parking_types=MIL_CARGO
atc_parking_codes=152,C130,M003
ui_manufacturer=Henry Tomkiewicz AI
ui_type=Lockheed KC-130R Hercules
ui_variation=USMC - VMGR-352, MAG-11, MCAS Miramar, CA. 160016
description=Repaint by Graham King

Can you confirm if this is indeed an error i.e. VMGR-152 Futenma, Japan and VMGR-352 Miramar, California in the same entry?

Also the HTML document shows
VMGRT-253 Titans KC-130F, KC-130J MCAS Cherry Point, NC US Marine Corp

But there is no C-130J for this unit in the aircraft folder?

Thanks again,
Steve.

Herc Package

First of all, thank you for all the work that goes into these packages, its much appreciated.

I have recently loaded the Herc Package into FSX and each time I load FSX I receive a warning that i cant have a/c with the same name. The a/c cfg file is clearly showing differently named a/c. Any ideas about what Im doing wrong?

Thanks

Adrian

Perhaps an FSX user will help you. You know, of course, our packages are designed, built and tested for FS9.

I'd check for duplicate aircraft folders. And double check the .cfg file, that's usually where trouble shows up. I have the package installed in FSX with no errors, but that could be because I had the error when I first installed it and remedied, but that was ages ago, sorry I can't remember if there were problems or not.

I've also re-read the original question from last year and I'm just as confused. The two texture sets in question are for VMGR 152, but the entries in the .cfg file say they're VMGR 352 aircraft. Were the wrong textures bundled or did the aircraft change Sqns but kept the same codes :?:

What's being described is not an FSX-specific problem nor is it directly a package problem as I have multiple MAIW herc packages installed with no issues.

My suggestion is to run a search using the Windows Explorer Advanced Search option "search within files" after making note of which a/c are reporting as duplicates and searching for that/those title(s). That should identify the duplicate aircraft.cfg files and/or entries. I once spent 2 days tracking down "misplaced" aircraft.cfg file [title= entries that were causing this same problem. The problem was that in 2 separate cfg files the [fltsim.x] entries were non-continuous entries and I'd not actually searched the entire files when I searched for duplicate entries manually. The automated search found the files each time I thought I had fixed it but hadn't really.

Just my 2 cents.

Do any of you guys running FSX know if ACA lite 2005 runs on FSX. That is the best program for locating these duplication errors.

Sorry, I don't. But there might be another version on Peter's website.

According to his website Docs ACA2007 Lite works on FSX.

Senior .. motorcycle accident head... whatever. The result's the same.

I thought I remembered 3 things that you lose as you get older - the first being memory.

I forget the other two.

Nuff hijacking. Thanks for the link.
