FS Repaint question

Can FS Repaint distinguish between left and right side on template object ? In other words ,if an Aircraft model is using one object in the template and that is mirrored in the other side ,can FS Repaint do a different paint for each side or does it just make one paint scheme as does PSP and Photoshop ?

I think I understand. FSRepaint is only a means of showing quickly and with less to/fro, as it would be using a paint software and FS. The same constraints of the model apply whichever you use. If a surface on a model is mirrored it stays mirrored. Is that it?
