Hey look at what we found, a Cannuck and a Dane standing on a road looking at the smoking hole in the ground their CF-188 just made.

Glad they both got out ok.

This link says it was a CT-155 so I'm not sure whether it was a Hornet or Hawk at this point. Either way this happened last year.

Must have been a hawk, if it had one of our pilots? At least it doesn't make sense for him to be training on a Hornet (IIRC RDAF pilots are trained at NFTC).

Was indeed a Hawk SN 155201. The aircraft suffered a Low pressure turbine failure. The Canadian was actually the CO of 419 Sqn at the time.

Thanks for the s/n update. Glad they both got out ok. That's the only problem with single engine jets, when it fails, your options are pretty limited.
