Carswell AFB Historic

A couple of us were thinking about doing a Carswell AFB historic package of scenery/ AI (freeware) in the days of the B 36 as a tribute to both the plane and the base. Any thoughts, ideas, photos, etc.? Kazunori Ito made a very nice B 36 model and allows repaints, but I'm not sure how many can go on a field before frame rates drop (a preliminary test on my computer {pretty basic dual core} tolerated 4 planes on the ramp and AI flying without difficulty.). BUT an AI version B 36 would be very nice (hint hint. I've never tried aircraft model building/ a B36 probably wouldnt be a good place to start.) . I really respect the experience and opinions at MAIW. I'm going to make the same post at California Classic.

Thanks so much for many hours of fun and fellowship!

You would really need a dedicated AI model, as a full flight line or a survival scramble would just stop any machine dead in it's tracks. That isn't even taking into account any scenery that you do.

Now the one thing that we have learned over the years is that we let our modellers choose their own subjects. They tend to be happier and more productive that way. You may be lucky that somebody does a model but realistically the best chance is to give it a go yourself. There tutorials on here and plenty of people that can help.

We have had complete novices start a year or so ago and their models are now staring to appear in our packages so why not give it a go.
