Cobham have lost the contract to convert the A330 to the RAF tanker version at Bournemouth Airport. The work will now be carried out in Spain, presumably at the Airbus Military facility. 800 jobs will be lost. This may be related to the problems of leaks that the were discovered by the RAF upon delivery of the first tanker.

Yes local business leaders have said that they will be hit hard. No other contracts at Cobham either. My guess is that they will move their Falcons to Tyneside, at some point as they do air-to-air combat training over the North Sea, and close their facility at EGHH.
