Hello:
Trying to install Great Lakes ang part 1 in FSX.
There is a guide by Martin Gossman
I tried to follow it but it bit complicated and cannot see the f16 in KFSM.
Is there a better way??

It should not be complicated - tell me where it gets hard to follow :smt001

Basically with a new installer based MAIW file like the Great Lakes ANG you do this:

1. Extract the package into a new folder (not your FS folder)
2. Move the 10 aircraft folders into your FSX installation (preferably into a new folder, see manual)
3. Copy the airport and waypoint files (MAIW_AF2_*.*) from the Addon Scenery folder into your FSX Addon Scenery folder (preferably into a new folder, see manual). Don't copy the *_VTP*.* and the *exclude*.* files.
4. Convert the Traffic file Traffic_MAIW_GLANG1.bgl with AI Flight Planner and copy it to Scenery\World\Scenery

Do you think you have done all these steps?

Re-reading your post... do you see any aircraft at all or is it just the F-16 at that specific airport that you are missing?

Need more info on what you are not seeing, and you shouldn't see any F-16's based at KFSM, as the Arkansas Air Guard flies A-10C's for the time being and that should not be in the GLANG package.

Did you mean Ft. Wayne, IN?

Ahhh.
I did some checking and found that the 184th FS did fly F-16s at Fort Smith up to 2008. Maybe you were expecting to see them and not the A-10s?

I just installed this into FSX and Springfield-Beckley (KSGH) is noticeably absent of any F-16's. Ramp was loaded in FS9.

And yes, I have traffic slider bumped up!

Am I missing anything?

The obvious thing is that the 162nd traffic file is an optional file and not installed directly. Have you copied that over and converted to an FSX traffic file?

I'm sure that's in the readme. :smt002
