Combat Pilot Series

Post by Woogey »

Please go to CombatPilotSeries.com
This is a new Site/Server from Saitek/Mad Catz that is going to be the military equivalent to VATSIM. Given that it has a Worldwide Military area of operation, I think that MAIW should start an "official" conversion process to FSX/Prepar3d. It would be so nice to be able to have an FS9 or FSX download version. A small little button next to the file, that takes all the dirty work out of the conversion process. I know that I'm not the only one who can't get aircraft to appear in FSX. I've followed all the "Guides." I have used all the conversion software (for afcads, for flight plans, for effects, etc.) to no avail. I just want detailed bases WITH aircraft at them! At this point, I couldn't care less if they move. :smt021

We have been through this discussion a number of times.
Simply put here are the facts :-
  • A greater percentage of our customers are still FS9.
FS9 and FSX are both dead systems therefore switching from one dead system to another doesn't really make sense on it's own.
Doing two versions of a package means that production time will take longer, meaning less packages.
Doing two versions means that the package manager, and checker, will have to have bot versions and installed.
In a nutshell, there is no reason to change at the moment. This doesn't mean we won't in the future. We are trying to make packages and aircraft more FSX friendly to help people like yourself.

Now if you have a particular problem why not start with one package that you have a problem with on the FSX support forum and maybe we can help solve it for you.
One thing that I would check for is that you have no FS9 traffic files in your system. If you have one it will knock out your FSX traffic files. A quick tip for you is that you can't only check your \Scenery\World\scenery folder as you can have traffic files in any folder that is in your scenery list. For example we have traffic files in some of our scenery folders and we are not unique in this.

I know that I'm not the only one who can't get aircraft to appear in FSX.
...It is really not very hard at all. I did it without even bothering to read the guides...

I did need the guides to get my head around the scenery issues though, but once you've done it a few times that too becomes easy.
