Pratica di Mare -LIRE airshow

Hello all, here I'm with another little job of mine...
A lot of time ago, back in early 2007, I posted some shots of one of my first jobs with AI. May be someone remember the post "Frecce Tricolore" in the screenshot forum.
Now, with the availability of new models coming from the awesome package for the MAIW 6th Anniversary, I decided to update it and to create a scratchbuilt Pratica di Mare airbase, instead of using the old scenery I had for that base.
I've just started with the main AFCAD, it's far from finish. I'd like to create three overlapped AFCAD to let aircraft taking off in formation and to re-create the fantastic fly-pass we can see in the MAIW package.
Here the first image of the main AFCAD.
Ciao,Giorgio

Hi all, I've finished the three overlapped AFCAD.
LIRE - Main
LISX - Left
LIDX - Right
LISX and LIDX were extrapolated from the main LIRE to let aircraft takeoff/landing on the left/right part of the runway.
All are in the same directory and noticed that they are not in the correct order, as you can see in the screenshot.
Opening them with AFCAD I can see different layer:
LIRE=277; LIDX=276; LISX=276
I think it should be enough to change the layer of LIRE down to 275, but assuming this is correct, how can I do this?
Is there another way?
Thanks in advance, Giorgio

Two ways.
1. Alter the order of your scenery when you load up FS9, then you will need to restart it.
2. Use a tool like SceneryConfigEditor by Andrew Thornton, found on Avsim.

Hi Steve, thanks for your answer.
I can't alter the order of scenery because three afcad are all in the same Dir. I tried to put them in different scenery directory and adjust the order without success.
I'll give a try to the tool you say, in the mean time I sort it out in another way much more simple.
Although I have a bit of experience, I thought the link should have a minimum thickness (0,1 mt). This is not true, once I set them all to 0 mt, the problem was solved....
...as my grandmother said, you never finish to learn...
Thanks again, Giorgio

Giorgio, are you doubly sure that they are in the same directory?
The reason I say this is that the layer number is the directory order. From what you wrote, you have two in one directory and 1 in another.
The tool that I mentioned does exactly the same thing, but it is more user friendly and means that you don't have to load up FS9. It even creates the same new scenery cfg file when you make changes.
The way you can falsify it is to add a new folder to your scenery list.

Yes Steve, absolutely sure.
The layer I read from AFCAD 2.21 changed when I put the three AFD in three different directories and put the main one (LIRE) on top of the other two.
At that point I had LIRE=277 LIDX=278 LISX=279. Now that I've put back all in one directory, they are all at layer 277.
Now, as wrote before, the problem has been sorted out in another way.
I tried to solve it changing the layer because I noticed that in the recent airshow package, all the AFCAD are in the same directory.
KNPA=265 and all the other, from ANPA to FNPA = 276
Thanks again, Giorgio

Now available on Avsim:
http://library.avsim.net/download.php?DLID=171376
As usual, some other download needed.
It's just the main AFD. I have a lot of problem with the overlapped AFDs, some aircraft land on the right runway, taxies on the wrong path and then park in the right spot. Other, once exit from the runway, don't move anymore.

Sorted out problems with the AFCAD, some nice result from the flightplanning.
BTW, the AI engine of FS9 is a nightmare....
