Twenthe Airbase (a wee gift to you all)

I thought that since I have been pestering the hell out of flightplanners etc, it was high time that I tried to pay back some of the kindness.

I have therefore done some scenery for Twenthe AB (EHTW) using ADE.

What you really need to know from the "get-go" is that this is my first ever attempt at doing this!

I have used shelters from the MAIW shelter library and trees from Matts Trees (Library 4).

The next thing you need to know is that I have taken an huge amount of creative licence with this base as Google Earth only shows how it is today (civvie). I decided to put a load of parking spots in and I have coded them to match Chris' excellent paints.

The scenery is there "as is" and please feel free to alter it any way you want to, in order that it may suit your own set-up. Obviously if you make it better - post it back here so I can use it!!!

I used Dan's plans which he posted early on Friday (see his bit's and bobs thread). He nearly caught me with his testing mistake. His originals have 313 and 315 Sqns based at Leeuwarden. I have amended them for Twenthe and the bgls are included in the zip. For those that don't have them I have also included the callsigns COUGAR and GRIZZLY together with amended aircraft cfgs to match.

Okay guys, have at it and please let me know what you think..................try and keep it clean though!

All the best to all MAIW members from Scotland.

Stew

What a good surprise. I was only looking at the place last evening and wondering what to use for it. It was so sad looking and with the afcad I had I think there were two aircraft.

Cheers

Chris

My pleasure Chris, and I'd welcome your opinion on my first attempt.

BTW: Check your B model aircraft cfg - there's a small error there.

Thank you Stewart, I shall be able to get that installed tonight along with Chris's F-16s, and with Wolfhounds bits and bobs, Holland is going to start getting busy. Might have to look at doing some F-5s now.....

There's no need for you to give me a tenner mate. I know I'm a Scot, but I'm not that bad. :P

In the "B" aircraft.cfg is
[Fltsim.31]
title=HTAI_F16B_RNLAF_TG_J-653

the texture file is reported as missing in ACA2005, is it just my old grey cells, or have I missed this repaint

Jim

Stew, that'll be that tenner your due me from 1978

If you're doing the F-5A's and B's .I've got a JAI F-5 paint kit in the works .Would've finished it last June but Salmon fishing, F##ked up PC , and a gorgeous summer etc got in the way . I'd had permission from Jake to use his model as I wished but no anser from ray parker as to any paint kit reference , so decided to do my own .
Cheers

For those that want it, here's an updated EHTW.

I just kind of went daft trying out various bits and bobs with ADE.

Stew,
I appreciate your daftness.

Can I make a suggestion? I know you are new to ADE but if you were to tick an option on the General tab of program options, Separate Airport and Object Bgl Files, this would automatically create two bgls One with the objects in and one with the afcad part.
This would mean that people could alter the parking codes, for example, w/o loosing the scenery. Unless the user adds the libraries to their own ADE setup then any changes they make will lose scenery from unknown libs.

The other option is to list all the scenery libs that you used so that the user can add them to their ADE setup, if they have it.

Hope this makes sense.

Steve,

I wondered how you did that (doh!)
