RAAF Base Amberley welcomes U.S. Growlers as work gets underway to convert 12 RAAF Super Hornets F models to Growler capability. The RAAF will be the only airforce outside of the U.S. to have this capability on Super Hornet with the U.S. ships being used for conversion training.
The RAAF's 24 Super Hornets were all made to be Growler capable during there construction. This now brings the fleet back in kinda par with the former F1-11 which also carried electronic warfare devices.

Have not seen any pics on what is actually involved with the conversion, at least externally. I assume we'll see 4 pods, but not sure if the other bumps/antennas will be added. Repaint anyone?

Well, the RAAF is the only Super Hornet operator outside the US, so of course they'll be the only operator outside the US with this capability. :P LOL.

The Growler can be loaded out with up to 5 ALQ-99 pods along with 2 AMRAAM or 2 HARM. I'm guessing three pods, two external tanks and two HARM. But then again, I don't know anything.
