The New Jersey Department of Military and Veterans Affairs confirms for Eyewitness News that the forest fire now burning out of control was likely caused by a flare dropped from one of two F-16 fighters, that were participating in a bomb-dropping training exercise over the Warren Grove Bombing Range.
The aircraft are based are part of the 177th Fighter Wing, based at the Atlantic City International Airport in Egg Harbor Township.

Maybe the military should reconsider using flares over dry forest?
