Howdy fellow simmers,
My name is Laz, and I am addicted to repainting aircraft lol. In all seriousness, does anyone know of a good repaint software to use? I use a software similar to Microsoft Paint, and I have peaked with the capabilities provided with it. Here is one repaint I have done. Be kind im still new to this lol.

Your best bet for what you want to do is either Photoshop or Paint Shop Pro. Both let you work in layers which is key to doing good repaints. You don't need the latest versions either, the older ones can be had for fairly cheap.

Thanks, I was curious as to why my lines are not as "crisp" as other repaints I see online. Is this of my own doing, or the software that I am using?

Probably a little of both. With a more capable program like PhotoShop or PSP, you can choose to antialias your lines, that's the same thing FS9 uses to smooth out jaggy looking edges. Same principle applies to lines that you can draw, it makes a world of difference.

I appreciate that I will look into both of those programs.

I bought my copy of Paint Shop Pro 7 off of Ebay for $5 back a couple years ago. Still using it although I need to upgrade as it's getting too far out of date to be compatible with newer versions.

You can also try Gimp, it is priced just right for us casual painters...free. Just do a Google search for it and you should be golden. It is very similar to PSP and PS7 in its interface.

Another very good - and free - program is Paint.NET, which you can find
here.

PSP 7 does not work well with Windows 7, and I surmise Windows 8, so better get a newer version, ie 10. Ron

lilaz,
sorry, I don't understand your question. In case you mean if I am using it or if I am satisfied with it - yes I do.

Martin,
Yes sorry about that. I used Paint.Net to create the repaint I posted in this chat thread.
