Does anyone know how to do flight plans? I would like to assign KNLC and other squadrons to fly in stay a while and practice there before returning back to their perspective bases. Is there a tool or someway this can be done?

Numerous tools are available, but you should go to avsim.com and download Traffic Tools and read the manual that comes with it. You can create flight plans using that tool, and the manual is first rate for learning the basics of flight planning. You absolutely gotta do the ground work if you want to create any flight plans. The other tools that are available will be so much easier to understand if you study the manual that comes with Traffic Tools. Good luck and have fun! Ron

CAPT, it's a good idea and one I have thought of, but it's hard to keep up with what squadrons are on deployment (See the real world CVW thread I have on this). You also can only do a week of FP's, but I guess there is a way to do 52 weeks with a program to swap out the FP per week. Depending when you as the player are going there, you could just have a squadron do 2 days at Fallon or something similar.

What you can do is just make a generic Fallon training set of FP, and just swap in aircraft sections of the FP.

Thank you Ron and Chris so Chris can I do that via Traffic Tools? Or is there another program for that?

My recommendation is AI Flight Planner 2. It is easy enough to learn to use.

Same, TTools is made for FS9 and below. AIFP2 will allow you to save the traffic bgls as txt files just like TTools, any small quick changes can be done with Notepad. Since you need AIFP2 anyway to convert the FS9 files, just use it.

I assume you have the Fallon flightplans with Mark's NSAWC Hornets/Tomcats, you can easily just make a copy of those and change the aircraft to the VFA squadron you want, should look good too as the bandits and good guys will taxi out together to hit the ranges and go FIGHT'S ON.

Hey Chris I am as dumb as a box of rocks when it comes to this. What do you mean by posting to notebook I am needing step instructions due to my lameness lol. If possible you can call me if that is better

Nope, not posting to anything just using the standard Windows Notepad.exe to create and/or mod the three files that when compiled by Ttools will create the bgl. As soon as you look at the Ttools tutorial it will make more sense.

Once you create a couple of basic plans using Notepad you can then look at using AIFP2 instead, however you can use it to look at already compiled plans and even de-compile them into the 3 source text files, just like with Ttools itself.

Having been creating traffic text files and using TTools to compile them into traffic files since FS2002, I have been creating traffic text files, using it to compile them into FS9 traffic files and then using AIFP2 to quickly convert these into FSX traffic files.

Eventually I will have to take the time to learn and use AIFP2 more effectively, but for now the above process has helped me to get my military AI into the FSX skies quickly.

You are selling yourself short. Using AIFP is pretty easy once you get started. There are a couple decent tutorials (good not great) on youtube. If you still need help I'll get with you on the phone.

AIFP I mean -- do you have this utility installed? It doesn't really install actually, you just unpack and use it.

http://stuff4fs.com/newpage.asp?Folder=AIFP

Go to this link and download. Click on Latest General Release. Going to want the User Manual as well. Do you know if you have Microsoft NET.Framework 3.5 on your computer?

The manual also advises that newbies start off with TTools - which I've never used. Do you have that?

Get a tool, one of them, and get it installed and we can set up a time to run thru them on the phone if you like.
