Since about 2008, the Quonset air show has had a smaller and smaller military display. Westover and Barnes rotate shows and one year operational requirements shut down the show, since they had no manpower. Air shows are good PR for the military. Many people of my generation don't understand what its like to be in a military family (guard/reserve,active duty). It always annoys me when people say they support the troops or claim they are the real patriots but have no idea what its like to be in the military or part of a military family. Shutting down air shows was a needed budget move even though it will suck this summer. Sorry if that came out as a rant.

Agreed. Not sure how or if we'll ever get back to the good old days in this country. We're essentially broke. Time to stop giving out billions of dollars in foreign aid every year me thinks.
