I may be late to the party but I just read that the UK Ministry of Defense retired all Harriers "prematurely" due to budget constrains. What are they planning to use to attack, harsh language?

Yeah I know the Eurofighter is in active service but methinks the MoD is a little eager to beat their swords into plow shears.

We have an agreement with the world that we will not attack anybody, that can shoot back, (not even the French) before 2019.

In all seriousness, we do still have Tornados and it is not like we have any carriers to use anyway, at the moment.

In a new scheme designed to raise money for the US DOD, we've decided as a nation to start flipping other nation's entire fighter jet fleets. We bought your Harriers for next to nothing and now will sell them to another country for a profit.

perhaps our American friends could sell on the old Harriers to the fledgling
(soon to be) scottish airforce.

... and what would they do with them other than frighten Grouse?

... on second thoughts they might come in handy to keep control in Glasgow on Saturday nights.

If we have to use Harriers for AD then we are in trouble. Oh wait we use Hawks. Hmmm.
