Can you recommend a good combat sim?

I am looking into buying a good combat sim, a modern combat sim and or a world war 2 combat sim. What do you recommend?
The DCS series is where it's at, and on of the few continuing to be developed. LOMAC is a part of the series and will continue to be upgraded. DCS Combined Arms is the future and where many of us hardcore simmers wanted to end up, finally the day comes where I can perform a CAS mission in the A-10 against a human competitor in a tank in a MP environment.
