Military AI Works

Hello everyone,

I wanted to take a minute and post some screen shots. I am migrating over to FSX. It is a slow process and I still have a lot of work to do. These shots are from former F-16 units I had served in and were BRAC'd. I didn't see any tail flashes so I pain stakingly took the time to learn how to do it. I don't know how many video's on Youtube I watched and still couldn't figure it out after almost 2 years. Then one day I decided today was the day I was going to do this thing, and I did it. I'm no expert by any means and now that I have accomplished the repaint task, I am on to learn how to use different objects from MAIW beautiful sceneries. I want to thank all of the developers here at MAIW for the hard work that you have put into making these sceneries. I wished I had more time to learn how to make sceneries, however, at 44 years old, I am going back to college and studying Mechanical Engineering. Between school, military and family, I don't have much time to myself. I was laid off in February and had a chance to reach a milestone for myself. Enjoy!

I am using Photoshop CS5.

Looks like you've got off to a cracking start there. Wish a lot more people would take the plunge like you did - and I started exactly the same way, as I am sure many of us painters have. Keep up the good work

Thanks Daryl! Although not 100% complete, I still haven't been able to master the night texture. So I can only fly in the day time with these painted tails. Since I am an F-16 guy I thought I would use it first. The pictures posted are the AS F-16. I'm running out of time trying to figure it out as I start back to school this coming Tuesday. Thanks for the kind words.

Night textures for military fighter aircraft are fairly straight forward - slime lights if the aircraft has them and maybe some landing light reflection, but the back end is usually unlit

Agree nicely done for your first time. I'm OK with FSRepaint, but have both Gimp and Paint.net to learn that fun layer concept. I fly both the Iris and Aerosoft Vipers in FSX too.
