The first of a whole bunch of Russian aircraft that I want to do. This is the wet model, starting from the Admiral Kuznetsov.

Nope, Daryl :smt001

I really don't know what they should represent. But whatever it is, they look strange. I was tempted to let the Su-33 start from the Kiev :smt002

For a minute a thought they were YAK-38’s, being a soviet carrier. But they don't have a T tail, there elevators are much lower on the airframe. So they must be reversed engineered Buccs 8)

They are the top secret latest design from Mikoyan Gurevich.

It's designation is the Mig 44A Bananaski!

Eh, which one would that be?

The carrier is from CarrierOps. The Su-33 is from Sergey's base package plus the texture pack from Nickman (both in the AI reference).

Don't judge a book by its cover... It was always on the back of my mind that all this looked so strange and that in my memory the Kuznetsov has a ski-jump bow. So I went back and surprise, surprise... the model name of the Kuznetsov says arcroyal and if you move your aircraft inside the carrier it looks rather British there.
