Next up from me in the retro theme, is a De Havilland Sea Vixen FAW2:

My thanks to brianf51 for providing me with some detailed photographs and a vital measurement to get me started.

I'm planning on making G-CVIX (Foxy Lady) that's currently flying the air show circuit, plus 10 aircraft of 899 NAS, Yeovilton, circa 1972. Model options will be with and without Red Top missiles and with and without folding wings/nose. Separate models for FS9 and FSX as usual.

Next job is to create the texture sheet and start the mapping.........

John

Probably one small step for the designer, but one giant leap for the flightsim community - again! (Manschy Armstrong)

John, I like your sceneries, but it's a big gift for the simmers world to see your ambitious work also in AI designing! Everything seems to be possible now in high quality  :smt007

The Sea Vixens are all done for FS9 and FSX.

I opted for 5 model variations in the end, Red Top x 4 + 2 tanks with a choice of folding or non-folding wings, 2 tanks only with the same wing choice and finally, 2 tanks with wing fold and nose fold. There are 10 x 899 NAS paints, including XP924 (G-CVIX) the aircraft currently flying the display circuit. There's a paint kit included. Here's a few screen shots:

I was going to provide a temporary link from Rapidshare but having discovered their re-designed site this morning and worked myself through the process, including a test download, I gave up in frustration due to the lack of clarity on what to do initially and finally the half hour it was taking to download a 12 MB file. I have uploaded straight to flightim.com instead. The files are:

JYAI_Sea_Vixens_FS9_1.zip
JYAI_Sea_Vixens_FSX_1.zip

I'm not sure if I was in time to have those available today, but we may be lucky.

Enjoy.

John
