Carriers 2006

Hey Guys,
Just wanted to throw a question out your way. I am sure someone on our forums here has figured this out, and I figured I would ask as I can't really find any answers on search engines. There is a file that came out a few years back that puts 18 carriers around the world at strategic places called carr2006. I like using this, but with FSX it would be alot better if I could somehow convert the crappy older carriers with Javier Fernandez's version. I know this is possible, and I know one of you Military AI madmen have done it already. Can someone explain how I can accomplish this? Second, is it possible to adjust their locations or change them completely, say move the North Sea location to the other side of the UK? Can you add more carriers? Does anyone know how many the US has active in total ?I am not big into carrier flying but it would be nice to update these and move them around a little, the one in Japan is undesirable because it buts up next to North Korea but remain inaccessible if you take off from Indonesia or Guam, its a long boring flight over water. Also the one near Virginia is in my opinion way too close to the shore, so I want to kick it out a hundred miles or so Northeast. I have been doing some Navy flying lately so it would be cool to fix up the carriers in this pack, and maybe add some new locations. Also, the wake looks like poo-poo in this package in FSX as well, any FSX users have a suggestion for that?

The last part of my question is trees and taxiway/runway/parking obtructions. Chris (Victory103) has been kind enough to modify my Lemoore and China Lake afcads. I have no idea how to do this, but I would like to learn because I am running into this problem at several worldwide locations with FSX and MAIW afcads, plus now using Orbx that may have added to the issue. I even have some houses right in taxiways in some cases (Decimonnau and Emmen so far). It makes the flight feel stupid when you taxi through a living room.

After clearing up my scenery library objects texture issue with Greg, and really getting my sim in order I am very close to being satisfied with my complex mad scientist Military AI setup. I am so grateful to this forum, because without it I would not even have been able to continue flying with some of the issues I have had that have been cleared up by these guys.

So, thanks guys, as always, it is well deserved. I love having friends all over the world who like this stuff as much as I do.

USN has 10 Nimitz class carriers in service. Lots of info here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_ai ... in_service

Dan,
Spend a good portion of my FSX flying from "the boat". This site will get you started on the carriers and other programs. I highly recommend vLSO as well to add to the immersion factor. Since this is a AI based forum, one thing I have yet to do is any hard core modifiying of the the MAIW packages to have them fly to/from the boat. Having a moving boat now in FSX adds to the challenge, but impossible for AI to manage. It has been done, so not that hard in the end to add AFD files for parking to static Javier carriers. If you remember in the NAS Lemoore pack, you have a flightplan for a few Hornets doing low approaches to stock FS9 carriers, this can get you started in FSX.

Chris thanks man. I checked out that site, looks intense! I fly alone alot, and was curious if you can switch the locations of the carriers in the Carr2006.zip package. I also want to swap out the old carriers with Javier's carriers because they look bad in FSX. I PM'd you, get back to me when you can man, maybe we can fly some hornets or tomcats on that site you linked above. Talk to you later man.
