These are terrific for civil stuff but is there anything out there similar for Miltary bases.

Now that would be most helpful with Retro airbase designing especially now that a great deal of the 1980's airforce bases have now gone. Google earth doesn't always help due to Wimpy and McAlpine have vandalised what was originally there.

They have a wealth of knowledge and also pictures - no doubt someone will also have airfield charts etc for the retro era.

Check with California Classics, they have MATS traffic for '60's era. It's actually pretty cool. Not much scenery for military bases but AFCADS, traffiic files, and models of retro transport aircraft.
