Above is a photo of A U.S. Navy McDonnell F-4J Phantom II of Fighter Squadron VF-74 Be-Devilers escorting a Libyan Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-23 over Gulf of Sidra in August 1981.

Mike asked me to see how well I could duplicate this real life scene in FS9. Since there were obviously two VF-74 Be-Devilers' F-4J's escorting the Libyan Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-23 and Mike had supplied me with both, I included them both in the following screenshots. 8)

Enjoy!

Yes, but the overall subject matter is more important. Something I've tried to do over the years with AI, replicate a real world pic.

Sorry Mike. I should have caught that glitch and got back to you for texture updates prior to taking and posting these screenshots. My bad! :(

That's why they call it beta-testing......... Even an old dog like me can screw up a paint now and then (still, after over 5,000 of them) :smt004

This is the last shot I post here, don't want to get too side-tracked on Martin's thread........

These are Gypsy 202 and 207 (ironically the same suffix numbers as VF-32 eight years before). These are the MiG-23 killers from 1989. Please note a couple of very small changes to the NBAI Tomcat, smoother nose, MPAI ordnance, and some unseen cockpit enhancement. Again, more on this later, and on another thread....

Mike,

I guess I proved that I am just as bad a beta tester as I thought I was. :(

I did not notice it either, Mike. I think that I never challenged any inscription or label as long as it looked reasonable convincing ...
And I fear that might be the case in the future as well :smt002
