Nato Sentrys update

I downloaded the MAIW Nato Sentrys Update to day.
When unzipping Norton killed the files due to a bug/virus called WS.Reputation.1.

Is this correct/normal?

Greetings from Holland,

Hi Rob,

I compiled the archive myself so i can say that it does not have a virus. However, I did read this article on the web about it http://www.ghacks.net/2012/06/25/how-to ... -1-system/. There is also an article from Norton itself http://community.norton.com/t5/Norton-I ... d-p/232155.

What it seems to say is that if a number of Norton users haven't downloaded the file before then it automatically classes it as a virus. This sounds extremely poor to me.

As nobody else has reported an issue or virus with this package I think you can override this.

This is definitely the case if you downloaded it from us directly.

I got the message from Norton saying it wasn't normally a downloaded file and therefore it was classed as dodgy. I have had this before from reputable places so I ignore the warning and there is no problem with the file. It does seem a very unfair system whereby a rarely downloaded file is branded as dodgy.

Thanks for the quick answer, Chris and Steve.

I will download the file again and kill Norton this time..................... :D
