Scenery for EBFN Koksijde AB

Hey!
Why can't I find at MAIW a good scenery of Belgian EBFN? Both the Alphajets and the F16's visit this airbase as well, but the airbase itself is not available at MAIW?

You said it yourself, both the Alphajets and the F16's are only visitors there. If MAIW had to do custom scenery for every airport visited, I don't think they'd ever be able to get a single package out the door

Hey!
No, this is not what I'm asking.
Just EBFN is together with EBBL, EBCV, EBBE and EBFS and a few smaller bases one of the main AB bases in Belgium. Greg knows that. Maybe he can advise me where to find a good scenery. The one from Fabien Provost is OK, but was made for FS2002 and looks completely different style to all MAIW bases. Above that, it's the home base of the 40th.sqn.Seakings of Belgian rescue helicopters. And these Seakings are being replaced now by the newer NH90 helicopters ( see
http://40squadron.webs.com/apps/blog/ ).

I'm not sure what this has to do with the Alpha Jets package, but no, there's no scenery for EBFN Koksijde.
The one from Fabien works more or less in FS2004 but is not up to current standards indeed. I had received permission from Fabien to rework his scenery for use in a MAIW package, modifying his SCASM file and adding a new background polygon and tons of extra objects, but unfortunately the whole project got sidetracked. I may eventually finish it if we ever get a good NH90 NFH AI model but I wouldn't get my hopes up.

Hey!
Good morning Greg,
Nice to hear that you may finish the scenery, IF you will ever have a good AI model of the NH90. I'm very hopeful that this will be in the near future.
So I went to search for that, and found this at Flightsim.com: "mzafa11.zip", a complete AI package of Royal New Zealand Air Force aircraft and flightplans. And,... There is a good NH90 in the package. I tried it an it looks very good. However, I don't know wether it is de model that corresponds to our belgian version of NH90.

The correct filename is "rnzafa11.zip"

Hey! Greg,
There is another model of NH90-NFH from Norway. You can find it at
http://www.flightsim.com/ under 'rnoaf-1.zip'.
Would that help you, is that worthwhile to pick up the airport EBFN that apparently was already statrted but not finisged.
I would love it!

Both links you gave point to the same model: the one from RNZAF/ABSimulations which is primo a TTH version and secundo has 30103 polygons in ACM with only 1 LOD while it needs 5 texture sheets... hardly a good model for AI purposes...

Hi Jive,have a look at
http://www.mirage4fs.com/scenery_europe.html,there are some Belgian bases there, not sure if they are what you are looking for though.

OK, Wildcat!
You know, I have Belgium complete. It's a small country hé! And on the link that you give me there are only French bases. For my part, there is only EBFN in my sceneries that is looking somewhat different as compared to the other Belgien AB sceneries. So I was searching only for EBFN in a better version than I have now.
Thanks anyway!

A scenery made for FS2002 as I remembered. Not perfect, but better than nothing or by default.

Yes, this FS2002 scenery is already mentioned some posts above. But no FS2004 Afcad for it. And not at FS2004 MAIW Sandart

Yes of course there are tools available. But then, with these tools (ADE for example), so make a new scenes to contemporary taste, with libraries of MAIW.

Finally I installed the MAIW scenery and replaced the untextured hangars and tower by some of CalClassic. According to some very few pictures I could found the hangars are rather elderly anyway. FS2002 version might have nice buildings but the trees and objects are awful, I agree!

You can find typic Belgian Hangars in the MAIW Alpha Jet package, with EBBE Beauvechain scenery

(there are the same used at EBFN and other belgian air base (comprising Kamina in Zaire))

Thanks for your advice. I copied the EBBE hangars and paste them to EBFN.
