Small font size

I'm trying to create very small serial numbers using PaintShop Pro 12. The smallest font I can get is 8 which is too big. I've created the number using 8 font then shrinking it using the pick tool. Whilst I can reduce the size the font it starts to blur and is hard to read. I've used both sharp and smooth anti-alias but to no effect. The number is still blurred. I'm also using vector graphics.

TIA

John

You can go down to a font size of 2 John, not from the drop down menu, but by typing it in, but it won't look that good.

If your master is 1024 x 1024, it's better to design at 2048 x 2048 pixels, 300 dpi resolution and then re-size it afterwards to 1024 to make the texture. That way you can use relatively large font sizes at the outset.

As John Young said.If you change the font size ie 4/3/6 by typing it in and then the sharp and smooth effect etc. You should get what you are after.I keep trying alsorts of setting until it looks as good as poss..Some times if you change the fill or opacity on the layer properties that can help.. But sometimes I have to mix up the fort sizes .Lets say you want the word ( No step ) What I do is this ..

N O S T E P
626 6262626 font size .so the letters are say font size 6 then you insert graps of which are say font size 2..

This gives a clearer appearance.

Well see how it goes..
