I'm slowly learning more about AI. There does not seem to be much (if any) helo AI. Is that because of demand or is there a technical limitation?

Thanks for helping out a noob.

Welcome Henry. You need to look harder.....

Maybe not much native FSX helicopter AI, but there is for FS9.

And yes the technical limitations are a big reason there isn't more. We're slowly overcoming those however.

Hi Henry,

As you may know the AI engine in FS9 was designed and optimized by MS for AI tube liner and general aviation traffic, but through the cumulative creative genius of our past and present MAIW members we have pushed the FS9 envelope way beyond that to include Military AI jet and prop driven fighter aircraft, Military AI multi-engine jet and prop driven aircraft, Military AI prop driven small aircraft and Military AI helicopters. :D

The latter has probably been the biggest challenge since FS9 is not very good for flying user flyable helicopters realistically, say nothing about AI helicopters. Despite that MAIW has successfully created a number of FS9 AI helicopters such as the Apache, Chinook, Puma, Cougar, etc. Currently there are more MAIW helicopters in development that I believe will take FS9 AI helicopter performance to another whole level of realism. :D
