Editing Repaints

hey I edit my own repaints to canon standards, is it ok to edit freeware repaints and post them on avsim,.?
If you used somebody else paints as a base then not without that persons permission. Taking someones scheme and altering the serial is not considered your own work.
If you created the whole scheme yourself using the paint kit then yes you can.
Does this make sense?
