Military AI Works

I have a problem when coming out of multiplayer, in that the start screen of FSX freezes totally, after i select free flight. The on screen boxes all become instant white backgrounds , following which the dreaded notice comes onscreen- (The program is not responding ) - but- it doesn't restart and usually crashes and a pc restart is required, or, i am obliged to do a total fsx reinstall .
I have found that from the multiplayer screen, once the escape is pressed, the start screen of fsx comes up and if i commence to work each selection in turn and end up starting and getting something air born in the missions section, fsx will let the free flight be selected and will operate as normal, once out of missions.
Question is, Is there some setup in fsx that controls the multi player operations. I dont think this is a unique problem and someone might have already solved this puzzle. Due to this i seldom use the multi player for ip connections to servers.

On MP and do not think I have seen this one. Lately I have been having issues initially connecting, but the 2nd try seems to work. Do you have some of program monitor or event recorder to see what is causing this?

I had a few issues connecting recently to a friend using the lan option in FSX, turned out it was Steam, so i just turned it off and had no problems since!! its probably not related but may help others if they have this problem, i also use Malwarebytes, which can also interfere with it!!
