can somebody put me right by telling me if the C17's at Wright-Patterson AFB have been deactivated,I recall seeing it somewhere but just don't know where.

No they are still very much active. Buddy of mine is a Lt. Col for them. I do think they might have had an airplane transferred to another unit however.
