AI Help for a newbie

Hi, first time post from a long term lurker.
I have been playing around with some AI for an old scenery I've been playing around with for while. I created a traffic file and got my AI flying no problem. Thinking they looked good I added some more aircraft and flights to the original file and ended up with double my original aircraft plus the new ones I had added. So I deleted the bgl file, fired up FS and the original aircraft were still there. Did a search for the traffic bgl file but it turned up a blank. Any ideas where I have gone wrong? If I recompile the traffic file I keep getting two of my original set of aircraft plus the new ones. Any help from you guys would be most appreciated. I should also say I'm using FS9 and traffic tools for my flight plans.
Regards,
David Finlay

On FSX, sometimes when I add new scenery or change aircraft, once I go back into the sim I will have double AI. I have to go into the settings menu and adjust all AI sliders to zero, reenter the sim, then back out and adjust my sliders to the original % settings.

I'm an idiot.
Thanks for the help, Chris. After much digging around in my scenery folders I found another copy of the traffic file in an active folder. No idea when or why I put it there. Problem solved.
Thanks again,
Dave

I would check the aircraft.txt file and ensure that you haven't got different aircraft using the AC# number. It is one of the pitfalls for having one big file rather several smaller ones.
Most people tend to have smaller files that way you can have a naming standard that is easy to find and maintain. It also means that you can have AC#1 in every single traffic file and you won't get a problem.

Greetings All,
I am very new here but very interested. I've been using FSX for almost 10 years now but only recently found a great site that allows me to add Commercial Airliners as well as GA aircraft with real world names and flight plans.

I was looking for a site that could do the same for Military Aircraft. I live in the US and there are a lot of bases in this country, in fact, I live right outside an Air Force base in Colorado. I would love to add some military life to the base as well as my trips across the US.

My question is this, What files or sites would you recommend for this? I do not wish to create Flight plans for all the military aircraft. I'm just looking for Flight plans already made for US aircraft and the aircraft to go with them? Seems most of what I see here are for other countries and very little complete packs for US bases and seems those complete backs still need scenery to be added.

At the moment the Military AI Works (MAIW) Package Reference at the the Owls nest lists 99 packages for the US

http://www.owlsnest.eu/maiw.php

Some of the latest releases in the download hangar are not even in this reference yet.

Welcome to the site. Plenty of US military to add to your sim. Most of the large aviation units in Colorado have been done so you'll be able to see the local flavors.

Thank you. I just had to look in another category and I was able to find North America (10 pages).

I was not able to find Peterson AFB or Area 51 (Groom Lake). Are there any plans for either of these 2 locations? I live in Colorado Springs so seeing activity at KCOS or even the Air Force Academy (KAFA) would be nice, even Fort Carson (KFCS) would be fun.

GSpector,
Look Here.
http://www.flightsim.com/vbfs/fslib.php ... &fid=90027 for Peterson AFB or search Dan Bourque.
The package is over 10 years old now but should help in Colorado with 2 ANG units F-16 and C-21 and 1 Reserve unit with C-130H.
Dan did 5 packages for US ANG and reserve units so you should take a look at all of them although some units have disbanded or changed aircraft.
Also at Avsim usaf_pafb_t41.zip but you will need the payware Cessna package but worth it with all the AI models in the package for $9.95.

Carson is done, along with Buckley up in Denver for Army rotary aviation, just search the forums. The state is just about complete, missing only the HAATS Army Guard training site in Eagle.

I was stationed at Carson 05-08 and been back a few times, miss those mountains.
