Another help if possible please.

With reference to my other recent thread/post, I have been busy converting my FSX to the 50's - 60's era using the classic aircraft.
Now when I was using FS9 I made a few fictional water afcads to use my AI seaplanes, well I tried the afcads in FSX and they didn't work.
I can get the aircraft to show up and sit there but when it is time to move they don't, so I tried to convert the afcad using ADE175, again the same result.
I got chatting to one guy who said he had made some and instead of having them as concrete have them as 'Ice' and he sent me one to try but again same result.
I played around trying different surfaces, I can get the aircraft to go to them but again they just sit there, so my question is has anyone made an FSX water afcad that can be used for ai?
The ones I made for FS9 all worked fine in that sim by the way.

Col, Brent and I have previously used a water AFCAD in FSX with my US-2's at Iwakuni.
I'm just off out for a few hours, but when I get back I'll post the AFCAD. I just want to confirm that the aircraft takes off before I do that.

Wow thanks JY, I did a Google search and spent hours looking at various forums but they were talking about ordinary flyable type afcads.
On this subject I tried to add a couple of docks to a default water afcad but to be honest I'm not that familiar with ADE, I did my training on the old afcad program for FS9 lol.

Right, all confirmed OK. The screen shot is my Shinmaywa US-2 departing Iwakuni harbour in FSX 10 minutes ago using the AFCAD in the attached zip.
If I remember rightly, I had to use AFCAD2 to make the file in order to keep the paths to 1ft width. In actual fact I notice that the file is in FS2004 format.
The only other thing I can think of as an enabler is that your have a set of water contact points in your aircraft.cfg file. Mine are exactly the same as for the land gear, except that they are Class4.
Hope that helps,
John

Thank you John, I honoured you are helping me.
I checked my contact points and they are set to 4, funny I did make another afcad using the old afcad program as I found it easier and as you say setting the the width to 1ft, this next bit may have been a mistake I then opened it in ADE and compiled and saved it to FSX format.

I don't think that would be a problem Col. Just as a test, I ran my FS9 AFCAD through ADE (FSX) and re-compiled it in FSX format. It still worked in FSX.
What we need to do is to determine whether it's the aircraft or the AFCAD that's causing your problem. Are you able to try one of your sea planes with the Iwakuni AFCAD I posted? Alternatively, if you want to send me an aircraft, I can try it in my full Iwakuni scenery. I can PM my e-mail address in case you need it for an attachment.

I tried you afcad and did a TNG type plan because I had no other seabase to fly to, any way again my aircraft just sat there when it was time to move.
The seaplanes I have are FS9 flyables I changed to AI and I used them in FS9 and they worked.
I feel I'm burdening you with my problem here.
Another thing I noticed with your afcad you have the parking as Mil Cargo where as I was using Dock, so I changed mine to the same but still my aircraft sat there.
I'll tried to send a zip but it was too big so it will have to be PM sorry mate.

No problem Col, I'm in between projects at the moment, with only a small scenery job for Brent on the go. I've PM'd my e-mail address to you if you still want to send me a sea plane model to test.

I had these working no problem in FS9 but when I switched to FSX I made a mistake of converting my water afcads to FSX and they didn't work.
So after lots of trial and error I got the help from John Young, and he told me he had done a water afcad in FSX for his seaplane, and he left the afcad in FS9 format.
Then after a few more trials I finally got mine to work, John was right, they do work in FSX if left as they are in FS9 format, again John helped me because at first I still couldn't get them to move when the time was up for them to fly, so I sent John a few of my afcads, he spotted it right away, I didn't have any comms frequencies installed, once I did that, hey presto!
