Downloading North America fails at 3/4 complete
Posted: 07 Sep 2018, 19:37

Installing North American region is failing almost at the 3/4 complete point in the download with the message attached.
Installed a clean Martix 1.3 to a new area and at all attempts to install North America region fails. Europe and Asia install successfully. Internet connection fine throughout.
Thanks in advance

Can you have a look in %LOCALAPPDATA%\Military_AI_Works\Matrix.exe_... and send me the error log file if there is one?

Hi Greg,
I've re-tried again to download on my laptop to see if the problem is my main PC. Same fault as before. OK with Europe and Asia but only with N America. Here is the log file from my latest attempt:

Do you have a download manager installed? If so try disabling that.

Thanks for the reports. I'll keep investigating.
In the meantime, can you guys check if you use a proxy for your internet connection and if so, disable the proxy and try again?

I was finally able to download North America after about 6 tries. I'm wondering if it was just a lot of traffic trying to download it at the same time that was causing issues. I have WIndows 10 and was not using a download manager.

Hi Greg,
No proxy used. I've used both WiFi and also wired but no change.
In case its traffic on the net, I'll keep trying.
Thanks

Hi Greg,
Not sure its related to these issues.
I also tried about 4 times to download NA and one where it stuck at 972mb.
Eventually after checking internet connections and so on, I cleaned out the "\AppData\Local\Temp" folder (even though there was sufficient space on the C Drive) and then it downloaded in a few minutes.
All installed ok.
Regards
Brian

Thanks Brian! My next suggestion was changing the temp folder location in Windows, but if cleaning it out does the trick then there's no need.

It has to be worth trying it, although I am at a loss as to why this seems to work for people.

I had the same issues trying to download North America via WIFI. I tried plugging into my router and that fixed it. Not surprisingly, the download also goes much faster over the wire.

Hi Skipper. Did you try clearing out the temp folder mentioned above? That seems to have fixed it for most people.

Hi Greg,
yes I tried that. Also my Anti Virus Protection is not the problem. Running out of ideas now...
