Global Hawk Shot Down by Iran

A Global Hawk was just shot down by an Iranian surface-to-air missile over the Strait of Hormuz. Iran claims that the UAV was shot down "over Iranian Airspace." This was probably intentional as the US blamed Iran for the oil tanker attacks a couple days ago.

It probably has nothing to do with the released video of the the IRGC, allegedly, alongside tankers in the Gulf - possibly taken from a drone.

Actually it was a US Navy MQ-4C Triton which has a number of improvements over Global Hawk for it's maritime mission.

No, it's a Global Hawk, because there's actually a program Northrop Grumman does at Patuxent River where they fly the Global Hawks on recon missions. My Dad used to fly the Global Hawks and has flown these kinds of missions many times. The one that was shot down was part of that program. Also, the Triton hasn't been deployed yet. Most of the mainstream media usually gets this stuff wrong in my opinion.
