Is there a limit to the number of entries in the scenery cfg?

As per post object, just a simple question: is there a limit to the number of entries in the scenery cfg and,by consequence, a limit of layers ?

But why anyone would need so many eludes me, I have less than 250 scenery.cfg entries and even then I do not have time to fly to all of those places.
