requesting ai to be built or converted

hey guys just wondering im a newbie to maiw can you request an ai to be built by like john nick mike and henk or do they just get ideas and make the ai as they go along?
If you look in my section (JYAI) of the Developer's Hangar, there's a topic ("Thoughts on the Next Project") where users can make suggestions for AI projects. Since it can take several hundred hours each time to complete a project, there's a limit that the small number of developers here can manage, so some thought needs to go into how best to use that time.
Feel free to post your ideas.
