I have put together a package for the Italian Air Force. If anyone is interested it is available here:- http://www.btinternet.com/~maddog71/ITAFai.zip

Comments would be most welcome as this is the first package of this type I have put together.

Thanks.

I've been trying to do my first Ai pack for release of a Croatian Air Force Mig 21 Squadron for a while. But at the moment I'm stalled on all the effort it takes so kudos to you for doing this. :D 8)

Keith,
I've downloaded and installed your package.
I haven't had a chance to spend a lot of time with it, but from what I've seen it's first rate work.
Thanks and keep it up.

Thanks for the kind words. That's the sort of encouragement a lot of us need!

Hi Keith !

First of all I really appreciate it when people take time to produce packages for their fellow simmers, so thank you.

I have one (pretty big) remark though. I don't know how realistic you want things to be, but know that in Europe most airbases have opening hours, and only few bases are open 24/7. I enjoy watching Italian cargo's flying into Belgian bases... but at 4AM everyone's still sleeping here :lol:

I can provide the opening hours for Belgian Air Force bases if you want. And if you care for realism, that is :wink:

Thanks again.

Hope you have an Open Day at EBFS. As I am sending Norvenich Tornadoes to that base on Saturday in my upcoming FPs for Norvenich AB. All the others dep/arr weekdays somewhen between 07:00 and 18:00 GMT. Will this be fine, Greg ?

Hi Jan

I guess you can always request a 'waiver' to the Belgian Air Staff :wink:

Maybe we could start a seperate thread in which everyone can add information about local bases in a kind of database, but here you have the main bases in Belgium:

EBBE Beauvechain
EBBL Kleine Brogel
EBFS Florennes

-> Flying window:
Mon-Tue 0830L until 2400L (for nightflying during summer time) or 2100L (for nightflying during winter time)
Wed-Fri 0830L until 1730L
Sat-Sun Closed (Except for QRA)

EBFN Koksijde

-> Flying window:
Mon-Fri 0830L until 1730L
Sat-Sun Closed (Except for SAR)

EBBR Brussels / EBMB Melsbroek

-> 24/7

They are indeed. e.g. 0830L

Otherwise I'd have to post two times for each window (winter & summer) :wink:

Sorry, I missed the "L" :wink:

You are late. 08:30 ? The first a/c took off at 07:30L at our base. Sadly it is closed now :cry:

Thanks for your comments. They're appreciated.
I'd like to reiterate that the contents of my package are not my work. I only put everything together :)

As for realism (regarding the timings), I'm not bothered one bit if an aircraft goes into an airport at a time when in real life it would be closed. But that's just me!

There's the realism thing again... "how far do you want to go?"

Some people (like me) try to simulate real-world traffic within the constraints of FS, others (like you) are happy when they see stuff flying around. Which I respect by the way, we just seem to have different goals. :wink:

I wouldn't worry too much about being half an hour early :wink:
