I'm trying to set up a simple intercept package in which a player flyable aircraft can intercept an AI long range aircraft.

I have the flight plans written. I have added the appropriate size of AFCAD to each airport so that the long range aircraft will land and park briefly before returning to flight.

This long range aircraft is NOT made for AI use. But of course it does show up as it should.
The problem I have is this. The LR aircraft will call for taxi instructions. It will push back, then suddenly disappear.

I'm pretty sure I'm answering my own question here, but is that caused by the fact that the LR aircraft I'm using is not made for AI?

One thing I just thought of.

What if the runway length is too short? Would that cause an aircraft to suddenly disappear?

Thanks in advance,
KJ

Sounds like it may be an afcad problem.

Thanks Dan,
I was starting to think that way too.

I'm going to take a look at the airports this weekend when I have a bit of time.

Thanks,
KJ

Kevin
Make sure that the parking spot is connected to the taxiway

Gary,
I actually added bigger parking spots and connected them. And AFCAD did not find any errors.
But thanks for the tip.

If I am making any sort of new file/flightplan I will alway use for testing purposes a default aircraft, in your case the 747 would be best.
This then confirms if the flightplan or afcad is at fault and not a known working AI aircaft.

Hmmm...great idea globemaster.
I'll give that a go.
