You need AI Flight Planner from the late Don Grovestine.

It is currently held here
https://www.fsdeveloper.com/forum/resou ... anner.279/

Downloading the software and reading the manual is a good place to start.

Once you read the docs on AIFP then you will be able to pick up any FS9 plans from our packages, load them into AIFP and when you select the output as being for FSX then AIFP will automatically convert them into the correct format.

Check any package that includes the txt files (aircraft_ , airports_ and flightplans_ ) and you will see what they contain and AIFP combines them into a bgl.
Whilst you are learning I would start with a small package, compile the txt files yourself and see if the aircraft show up in game. Once you have completed that successfully then every other package is a matter of scale and complexity.

Alright, I've got it downloaded, Very sad to hear the the creator passed away.

I've tried making a basic flight plan, but the plane just never appears. Any idea why?

Well the usual suspects in this case are the first things to check.

Are the flightplans written in local or GMT? Normally flight plans are written in GMT, as they are simpler to keep track of in your brain, but you will therefore need to convert the time into the local time at the airport of your choice. LV is 8 hrs behind GMT.

Secondly, does the aircraft show up in game at all? Try using an aircraft that you know shows up in game just in case there is an error with that aircraft.

Finally, the other most common error is that if you have any FS9 formatted compiled plans anywhere near that location then any FSX plans will not show up. One of the tools that AIFP will check for FS9 plans for you.

It does appear that i have some FS9 formatted flight plans, but they are nowhere near vegas. https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/ ... e81fc7691e&
The plane is an AI only one i got here at MAIW, So im not sure how to test if it appears at all or not
The flightplans are in GMT, I think.. That might be why i never see the planes when i spawn at their departure point at what i thought was their departure time, but im not certain https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/ ... 7afd7f4ee4&
I greatly appreciate you helping me out here, You're the best!

Convert all FS9 flight plans to FSX format - the range of a flight plan is much greater than you think.

Do you have parking spaces at the airport for the aircraft you are trying to make fly.

Start with a really simple flight plan.
Pick an airport you never normally fly (I use one in American Samoa for my testing) create a flight plan with one aircraft leaving the airport and returning to the same airport every hour.
Compile, go to the airport and you should see your AI. Build up from there.

If you use FSX or P3D - and no matter what version - and only ONE flight plan is in FS9 format, then ALL flight plans will be affected and run in FS9 format, and no traffic will show anywhere.

This is an old problem, and easily fixed. In AIFP, you go under "Bulk Traffic", select "Convert FS9 Traffic files to FSX" and let it run.

could you post a screenshot of what the legs of that flight should look like, so i can copy it to try it out?

I copied your flight plan, and the plane model indeed works! and it's at the airport!

In the short time i was testing, it just sat on the ramp, but im guessing if i watch him for a little while, he'll take off and fly around?

Thank you very much for all the assistance so far!

UPDATE: Good news and bad news
The good news:
He does properly taxi out to the runway after a while!

The Bad news:
Once he throttles up, he just pitches his nose up slightly and does not take off
https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/ ... c22b0681a2&
Once he overruns the runway, he just flies straight at 32Ft until he slams into a mountain.
Any ideas what could be causing this?

Could it be the FL causing this, or maybe the aircraft model is bugged?
Here's my flight plan for refence.

Which model are you using? It sounds like it is a flyable aircraft that you are trying to use as an AI?

It's the TBAI Cirrus SR-22, With the NASA repaint from here.

It's AI only as far as i know

Try changing the flight type to VFR (visual flight rules).

No luck, He still never rotates and smashes into the mountain. Could you try setting the same cirrus to fly the same route on your system and see if the problem occurs there too? Thanks!

I have re-read this thread and the first thing that hit me is that you are using the TBAI SR-22. I don't think that I have heard of that one. The SR-22 that I have in my sim is the MCAI SR-22 ( Mike Cronin).

I did a check and I believe that Todd's model is a flyable one.

I see that in our downloads section we also have files for Tibor Kokai's SR-22, which again I had not come across.

My gut feeling here is that you may have to use the fde from an AI plane that works and graft it on to the model that you are trying to use.
Is this something that you have done before?

The TBAI SR-22 is, as far as I know, not user-flyable.

It's been around for quite a while, I think I have had it for over 2 years now.

But I cannot remember from where I got it...
