Military AI Works

So, I've been hoping for awhile to add NJ and NY ANG and USAF forces to FS, plus improving McGuire AFB and Lakehurst NAES... the problem is, I suck at TTools, AFCAD, Gmax... basically everything but repainting. If anyone would like to help me with this, I'd really appreciate it. I can assist with checking authenticity, repainting planes, and just general coordination of the project.

So, here are the aircraft, units, and airports that would be involved:

NYANG

KIAG - KC-135R - 107th Air Refueling Wing
KSCH - LC-130 - 109th Airlift Wing
KSWF - C-5B - 105th Airlift Wing
KSYR - F-16C - 174th TFW

NJANG

KACY - F-16C - 177th TFW
KWRI - KC-10A - 514th Air Mobility Wing (USAF)
KWRI - C-17A - 514th Air Mobility Wing (USAF)
KWRI - KC-135R - 108th Air Refueling Wing

I've been tinkering with some AFCADs for KSYR, KSWF, and KSCH. I've also been working on KGTB to include the 174th's FOL. I'd be happy to help out on the project with flightplans and AFCADS!!

I too, would love to see more of the NY/NJ ANG out there!

as you may be able to tell from my siggie I want to see NYANG as well! There are no projects in the works as far as I know so I recommend trying your hand at it!

I'm encouraged to see that I'm not the only one who would like to see the Northeast get some improved military AI... I was thinking we could use repaints of Mike Pearson's AI F-16C for the Cobras and Jersey Devils. Also, Mike Stone's C-17 and KC-10 come in default McGuire textures and aren't too bad on framerates, but I'm not sure if he licensed them for use in other addons, so I'll try to contact him. If we can use his planes, his C-5, KC-135 and C-130s could be useful as long as they're repainted.

If anyone can help with this project, could you please contact me by PM, MSN, or AIM?

I have FP for McGuire C-17 & KC-10. They use PAI models & Textures which are very good. Im sure PAI did a Mcguire C-17 package.

Graham has repaints C-5s out of Stewart, C-130s(albeit without the skis) out of Schenectady and KC-135Rs out of Niagra.

For NJ he has repaints of Hayduff's KC-10 as well as for the KC-135E model for McGuire.

Michael MacIntyre has done repaints for the 138th out of Syracuse as well as the 119th of Atlantic City.

Actually my first released AI project was the cobras! I forgot about that! Its a crappy package but it puts Vipers in 'Cuse. It used an old AI F-16 but you just hafta substitute the HT F-16 to get a halfway decent package. Its hidden somewhere in the deep confines of the FS2004 section at Simviation.

I currenltly have the HT F-16s in the 'Cuse from the old CONUS F-16 package. I've been wanting to update these into some more realistic 174th deployments. As I mentioned before, I've also tinkered with Wheeler Sack (Ft. Drum) to help bring the 174th's FOL alive.

I'd like to include them...I've worked a basic AFCAD for KFOK...the trick is the AI MH-60s.

Any ideas on the Aircraft reg #'s?

These are certainly useable and look good. I like the HTAI F-16 as well. They offer some model variations including drop tanks, various weapons loadouts.

Also, I was thinking maybe we could add the Naval Weapons Station Earle pier plus a couple of ships since it's in the area? It's a pretty cool sight in real life since so many ships resupply there (though, I rarely see anything but Henry J. Kaisers).

Well, regardless of whether we do that or not, I still have very high hopes for this project. I'll begin looking at some Mike Stone planes to repaint for the NYANG.

I suggest the Elvis AI KC-135, the HT F-16, and until the AI one is done the Mike Stone C-5 suffices.

I'm working on an AFCAD for KACY. Does anyone know the gate assignments on the civilian terminal? I did find KACY is served by Spirit and Comair, any others? I'm trying to place them by memory and I was lst through there 1 1/2 ago. Thanks for the assistance...I should have the AFCAD for KSYR and KACY sometime next week.

Atlantic Southeast, an airline affiliated with Delta, serves KACY, too. They've replaced Comair.

Thanks, I've got the Delta Connection gate coded as "DALX" so it'll take whichever Connection carrier goes in there based on the flight plans users are running as long as thier aircraft CFG is set aqccordingly.

Hi pdg, I did a little searching for KACY on their home page and "http://flightaware.com/live/airport/KACY". I discovered that Omni Air Inter. and Sky King also flies in there. To your ? on gates assignments, Spirit Airlines uses gates 1-6. Love the work everybody is doing here. please keep it up.
