Hi,
Is it OK to attach files previously distributed by MAIW in the Matrix releases to forum posts?

That is an interesting question.
In principle it sounds like it should be OK, but the entirety of the Matrix files were removed from sharing by its author.
So I think that to be safe that anything from the Matrix must be shared one-one basis. As such, probably the best idea is to load the small subsection of files up to your Google Drive or OneDrive folder and create a link.
If anybody then asks you for the files you just send them the link rather than the files.
This should save time and trouble. This way it is not a general sharing option but rather it is a controlled option.
To anticipate your next question, if you were to paste that link in the forum then you could run the risk of being accused of open sharing. It would be different if you owned what you were sharing.

It's a shame that The Matrix was removed from the Hangar. It seems that The Matrix contained files that were not released elsewhere. And these files were very interesting. I hope that The Matrix, like the Phoenix, will rise from its ashes and be available again soon.

As you know we always respect the wishes of developers.
The developer did not want to leave his work online. I believe that it might be related to the fact that he couldn't continue to develop it plus the Matrix files were for an earlier version of P3D. I believe that he felt that leaving them available would create more and more calls for updates when new versions of P3D were released, something that he could no longer fulfil.
