My question to him and any one who has flght simulator x on vista, can I use ttools and afcad like I am doing on flight simulator 9, making up flight plans and different ai aircraft etc. any answer will help, have purchased the same
hp 8100 but havn't opened the box yet, layed up. thanks Jim Curry

You cannot use afcad but there is a payware program available.

FSX has worked fine on my Windows XP (hmm "fine" is maybe a bit exagerated, let's say it worked  ). There must be another reason why you can't run it...

The AI community hasn't made the jump yet. There's a tool to convert flightplans from FS9 to the FSX format, but nothing like TTools.

For AFD files two freeware programs are currently in beta, as NoNameVet mentioned.

Hope this helps.

YES, THAT IS THE PAYWARE PROGRAM THAT HE IS REFERRING TO. FROM WHAT I'VE READ AROUND IN OTHER FORUMS, IT'S JUST A SOUPED UP AFCAD2... I'D RECOMMEND ONE OF THE FREEWARE APPS (*ALTHOUGH STILL IN BETA*) AS THEY ARE BOTH DESIGNED FOR FSX DIRECTLY AND HAVE INPUT FROM MANY "AWESOME" MEMBERS OF THE FS COMMUNITY :)

(*yes, all caps on purpose*) :)
