Check this out.

No links provided but you should be able to locate them at Avims and/or flight sim.

I also use Graham King's website as a tool to find models. He has a list of his repaints and links to some of the models. Plus, he gives the modelers name and you can search using that info.

It takes a bit of research to find AI models but for me that's half the fun.

If you download my paints I do try and give a link to the model file in the readme. If it is on AVSIM you can use the ZipDrive! button and view the readme without downloading.

Sounds like a security setting problem. PM with details of your operating system and browser and I will see if I can help.

@ Graham.
I for one appreciate all you do. Not only do you provide us with great repaints, you've gone out of your way to make it easier for us to find them and the models also.
THANK YOU.

@MACC
My IE will not download from Avsim, so I have been using Opera browser. I have no problem with that.
But I have to use Mozilla Firefox to download from Simvation.

I've check all my security settings and have even added those websites to the security to allow access to them. But still no joy.

Guys, I have been having trouble lately downloading from Avsim. If I continue to refresh the download page it will finally come through. This seems to have started with the latest version of I E which installed itself on my computer uninvited  . I know this is off-topic but if someone has a cure for this it would be appreciated.

Thanks :D

Work on updating the avsim servers might have had something to do with it, don't you think?

I think there might be a limit on the number of dowloads you can have going at the same time with AVSIM. Sometimes I have found it is only 2, the third shows the download page but then goes to the "Not Found" page which I assume is AVSIM refusing the third download. You then have to wait for one of the others to finish.

I use IE7 to download from AVSIM. I had to play around with the security settings to even allow a download and then some options to get rid of the annoying banner that pops up at the top of page stating IE has stopped a file downloading and then you have to right click to get it going. Mine, assuming AVSIM is playing ball, now goes straight to the Open/Save dialog box.

I had so many problems with IE that I finally installed firefox, and along with Free Download Manager, have had no problems, other that that both Flightsim and Avsim limit the amount of time you can spend downloading. Flightsim will not support more than one download, and will never allow a large file to complete on dialup. Also, neither will support restart, even though Avsim says it will. I've at times be able to get 2 files to download at a time on avsim, but only rarely. Lately both have been not so friendly, often blocking downloading, stating busy now, come back later. This may be due to server problems, or a hugh number of users at one time.
Be sure that firewall is set up to allow the handshaking between your browser and their server. In any case dump IE and migrate to Firefox.

Since I've started using Opera, I can download up to 4 files at once from Avsim. As stated earlier, I use Firefox for Simvation.com.

AVSIM blocks too many downloads using a accelerator program like DAP. It allows one or two and then kicks you out.

It's called "High Traffic" guys. When Avsim gives you the "error 404" or whatever, just hit the back arrow. Keep doing this till you get the download notice. It's the same thing everyone complains about with Flightsim.com. Exceptionally high traffic volume. There are only so many nodes available! That's also why Avsim slows down so much nowadays, and why Simviation put a speed control on their downloads. You've noticed Simviation has the same premium membership for highspeed downloads that Flightsim.com has now. I look for Avsim to do the same, soon. I can't really say I blame them.

Come to think of it, most of my problems were at Christmas when MAIW released all of those pkgs

Since then, I've been able to get 3 at once from Avsim with IE7. Go figure :D
